Reward according to the labor….

Written by

….and every man shall receive his own reward according to his own labor…   1 Corinthians 3:8

…And EVERY man… regardless of age, occupation, gender and abilities…

This month brought us a lot of contemplation’s on rewards…

The school year is over and everybody received their rewards according to their hard work in gaining knowledge.  Some of the students achieved their goals, some are still working towards them. One of the biggest joys were a few parents who joined us for the graduation ceremony. It was the first visit this year. Some students were a little bit worried. ”How will my mom react?” If only you could see Somying’s face when she heard the words,“Good job, my daughter, I really enjoyed your performance!” Her joy was inexpressible.

Last month we said ”Goodbye and see you later…” to one of our brothers in Christ. For some of us he was a grandfather, to others, a father, husband, brother, friend, or village chief. The testimony of his life shows a lot about his love for God. His family testifies, “My father in law received Christ eight years ago. He was not only a beloved village chief, but he also had started a church in the Golden Triangleand helped set up a center for teens. Currently there are about 30 teenagers there who come for Chinese and Bible studies a few times a week.  God also gave him an opportunity to plant seeds in the communist country of Laos. He has gold awaiting him in heaven.  Not only his life, but also the remembrance of his life brought glory to God. It was a great opportunity to share the Gospel with many people who came to say good bye to him.

Answered Prayers and Needs

Thank you very much for your continued prayers!God really protected us during the two days of storm. We lost some precioustrees, but no buildings. Nearby, fifteen houses were destroyed by the storm. We suffered only a few thousand dollars of damage, but these people have lost everything, and must sleep now in the local temple.

Another answered prayer was that one of the girls that was sent off to work, was by God’s grace able to return to Avoda.

We are continuing to prepare our place for growth and this May we are going to have more students, more challenges, and bigger rewards! Please pray, so God would send the right students who would be willing to grow, and whose lives will bring more glory to God. Pray for God to give us wisdom in this ministry.

With more students coming, we need dedicated people who are willing to serve them here for a long time! If God is calling you, please come!

May God bless you every moment in your life…
