Book
Chapter
1
WoeH1945 to the rebelliousH5637 children,H1121 saidH5002 the LORD,H3068 that takeH6213 counsel,H6098 but not of me; and that coverH5258 with a covering,H4541 but not of my spirit,H7307 that they may addH5595 sinH2403 to sin:H2403
2
That walkH1980 to goH3381 downH3381 into Egypt,H4714 and have not askedH7592 at my mouth;H6310 to strengthenH5810 themselves in the strengthH4581 of Pharaoh,H6547 and to trustH2620 in the shadowH6738 of Egypt!H4714
3
Therefore shall the strengthH4581 of PharaohH6547 be your shame,H1322 and the trustH2622 in the shadowH6738 of EgyptH4714 your confusion.H3639
4
For his princesH8269 were at Zoan,H6814 and his ambassadorsH4397 cameH5060 to Hanes.H2609
5
They were allH3605 ashamedH954 of a peopleH5971 that could not profitH3276 them, norH3808 be an helpH5828 norH3808 profit,H3276 but a shame,H1322 and alsoH1571 a reproach.H2781
6
The burdenH4853 of the beastsH929 of the south:H5045 into the landH776 of troubleH6869 and anguish,H6695 from whereH1992 come the youngH3838 and oldH3918 lion,H3918 the viperH660 and fieryH8314 flyingH5774 serpent,H8314 they will carryH5375 their richesH2428 on the shouldersH3802 of young asses,H5895 and their treasuresH214 on the bunchesH1707 of camels,H1581 to a peopleH5971 that shall not profitH3276 them.
7
For the EgyptiansH4714 shall helpH5826 in vain,H1892 and to noH7385 purpose:H7385 thereforeH3651 have I criedH7121 concerning this,H2063 Their strengthH7293 is to sitH7674 still.H7673
8
NowH6258 go,H935 writeH3789 it beforeH854 them in a table,H3871 and noteH2710 it in a book,H5612 that it may be for the timeH3117 to comeH314 for everH5703 and ever:H5769
9
That thisH1931 is a rebelliousH4805 people,H5971 lyingH3586 children,H1121 childrenH1121 that willH14 not hearH8085 the lawH8451 of the LORD:H3068
10
WhichH834 sayH559 to the seers,H7200 SeeH7200 not; and to the prophets,H2374 ProphesyH2372 not to us rightH5229 things, speakH1696 to us smoothH2513 things, prophesyH2372 deceits:H4123
11
Get you out of the way,H1870 turnH5186 asideH5186 out of the path,H734 cause the HolyH6918 One of IsraelH3478 to ceaseH7673 from beforeH6440 us.
12
WhyH3651 thusH3541 saidH559 the HolyH6918 One of Israel,H3478 BecauseH3282 you despiseH3988 thisH2088 word,H1697 and trustH982 in oppressionH6233 and perverseness,H3868 and stayH8172 thereon:H5921
13
ThereforeH3651 thisH2088 iniquityH5771 shall be to you as a breachH6556 ready to fall,H5307 swellingH1158 out in a highH7682 wall,H2346 whoseH834 breakingH7667 comesH935 suddenlyH6597 at an instant.H6621
14
And he shall breakH7665 it as the breakingH7667 of the potters'H3335 vesselH5035 that is brokenH3807 in pieces; he shall not spare:H2550 so that there shall not be foundH4672 in the burstingH4386 of it a shardH2789 to takeH2846 fireH784 from the hearth,H3344 or to takeH2834 waterH4325 with out of the pit.H1360
15
For thusH3541 saidH559 the LordH136 GOD,H3069 the HolyH6918 One of Israel;H3478 In returningH7729 and restH5183 shall you be saved;H3467 in quietnessH8252 and in confidenceH985 shall be your strength:H1369 and you wouldH14 not.
16
But you said,H559 No;H3808 for we will fleeH5127 on horses;H5483 thereforeH5921 H3651 shall you flee:H5127 and, We will rideH7392 on the swift;H7031 thereforeH5921 H3651 shall they that pursueH7291 you be swift.H7043
17
OneH259 thousandH505 shall flee atH6440 the rebukeH1606 of one;H259 atH6440 the rebukeH1606 of fiveH2568 shall you flee:H5127 till you be leftH3498 as a beaconH8650 on the topH7218 of a mountain,H2022 and as an ensignH5251 onH5921 an hill.H1389
18
And thereforeH3651 will the LORDH3068 wait,H2442 that he may be graciousH2603 to you, and thereforeH3651 will he be exalted,H7311 that he may have mercyH7355 on you: for the LORDH3068 is a GodH430 of judgment:H4941 blessedH835 are allH3605 they that waitH2442 for him.
19
For the peopleH5971 shall dwellH3427 in ZionH6726 at Jerusalem:H3389 you shall weepH1058 noH3808 more:H1058 he will be very graciousH2603 to you at the voiceH6963 of your cry;H2201 when he shall hearH8085 it, he will answerH6030 you.
20
And though the LordH136 giveH5414 you the breadH3899 of adversity,H6862 and the waterH4325 of affliction,H3905 yet shall not your teachersH3384 be removedH3670 into a cornerH3671 any more,H5750 but your eyesH5869 shall seeH7200 your teachers:H3384
21
And your earsH241 shall hearH8085 a wordH1697 behindH310 you, saying,H559 ThisH2088 is the way,H1870 walkH3212 you in it, whenH3588 you turn to the rightH541 hand, and whenH3588 you turn to the left.H8041
22
You shall defileH2930 also the coveringH6826 of your gravenH6456 images of silver,H3701 and the ornamentH642 of your moltenH4541 images of gold:H2091 you shall castH2219 them awayH2219 as a menstruousH1739 cloth;H4346 you shall sayH559 to it, GetH3318 you hence.H3318
23
Then shall he giveH5414 the rainH4306 of your seed,H2233 that you shall sowH2232 the groundH127 with; and breadH3899 of the increaseH8393 of the earth,H127 and it shall be fatH1879 and plenteous:H8082 in that dayH3117 shall your cattleH4735 feedH7462 in largeH7337 pastures.H3733
24
The oxenH504 likewise and the young assesH5895 that earH5647 the groundH127 shall eatH398 cleanH2548 provender,H1098 whichH834 has been winnowedH2219 with the shovelH7371 and with the fan.H4214
25
And there shall be on everyH3605 highH1364 mountain,H2022 and on everyH3605 highH4791 hill,H1389 riversH6388 and streamsH2988 of watersH4325 in the dayH3117 of the greatH7227 slaughter,H2027 when the towersH4026 fall.H5307
26
Moreover the lightH216 of the moonH3842 shall be as the lightH216 of the sun,H2535 and the lightH216 of the sunH8121 shall be sevenfold,H7659 as the lightH216 of sevenH7651 days,H3117 in the dayH3117 that the LORDH3068 bindsH2280 up the breachH7667 of his people,H5971 and healsH7495 the strokeH4273 of their wound.H4347
27
Behold,H2009 the nameH8034 of the LORDH3068 comesH935 from far,H4801 burningH1197 with his anger,H639 and the burdenH4858 thereof is heavy:H3514 his lipsH8193 are fullH4390 of indignation,H2195 and his tongueH3956 as a devouringH398 fire:H784
28
And his breath,H7307 as an overflowingH7857 stream,H5158 shall reachH2673 to the middleH2673 of the neck,H6677 to siftH5130 the nationsH1471 with the sieveH5299 of vanity:H7723 and there shall be a bridleH7448 in the jawsH3895 of the people,H5971 causing them to err.H8582
29
You shall haveH1961 a song,H7892 as in the nightH3915 when a holyH6942 solemnityH2282 is kept;H6942 and gladnessH8057 of heart,H3824 as when one goesH1980 with a pipeH2485 to comeH935 into the mountainH2022 of the LORD,H3068 to the mightyH6697 One of Israel.H3478
30
And the LORDH3068 shall cause his gloriousH1935 voiceH6963 to be heard,H8085 and shall showH7200 the lightingH5183 downH5183 of his arm,H2220 with the indignationH2197 of his anger,H639 and with the flameH3851 of a devouringH398 fire,H784 with scattering,H5311 and tempest,H2230 and hailstonesH68 H1259.
31
For through the voiceH6963 of the LORDH3068 shall the AssyrianH804 be beatenH2865 down, which smoteH5221 with a rod.H7626
32
And in everyH3605 place where the groundedH4145 staffH4294 shall pass,H4569 whichH834 the LORDH3068 shall layH5117 on him, it shall be with tabretsH8596 and harps:H3658 and in battlesH4421 of shakingH8573 will he fightH3898 with it.
33
For TophetH8613 is ordainedH6186 of old;H865 yes,H1571 for the kingH4428 it is prepared;H3559 he has made it deepH6009 and large:H7337 the pileH4071 thereof is fireH784 and muchH7235 wood;H6086 the breathH5397 of the LORD,H3068 like a streamH5158 of brimstone,H1614 does kindleH1197 it.
