And SamsonH8123 wentH3381 downH3381 to Timnath,H8553 and sawH7200 a womanH802 in TimnathH8553 of the daughtersH1323 of the Philistines.H6430
2
And he cameH5927 up, and toldH5046 his fatherH1 and his mother,H517 and said,H559 I have seenH7200 a womanH802 in TimnathH8553 of the daughtersH1323 of the Philistines:H6430 nowH6258 therefore getH3947 her for me to wife.H802
3
Then his fatherH1 and his motherH517 saidH559 to him, Is there neverH369 a womanH802 among the daughtersH1323 of your brothers,H251 or among allH3605 my people,H5971 that you goH1980 to takeH3947 a wifeH802 of the uncircumcisedH6189 Philistines?H6430 And SamsonH8123 saidH559 to his father,H1 GetH3947 her for me; for she pleasesH3477 H5869 me well.
4
But his fatherH1 and his motherH517 knewH3045 not that it was of the LORD,H3068 that he soughtH1245 an occasionH8385 against the Philistines:H6430 for at that timeH6256 the PhilistinesH6430 had dominionH4910 over Israel.H3478
5
Then wentH3381 SamsonH8123 down,H3381 and his fatherH1 and his mother,H517 to Timnath,H8553 and cameH935 to the vineyardsH3754 of Timnath:H8553 and, behold,H2009 a youngH3715 lionH738 roaredH7580 againstH7125 him.
6
And the SpiritH7307 of the LORDH3068 cameH6743 mightily on him, and he rentH8156 him as he would have rentH8156 a kid,H1423 and he had nothingH3972 H369 in his hand:H3027 but he toldH5046 not his fatherH1 or his motherH517 whatH853 H834 he had done.H6213
7
And he wentH3381 down,H3381 and talkedH1696 with the woman;H802 and she pleasedH3477 H5869 SamsonH8123 well.
8
And after a timeH3117 he returnedH7725 to takeH3947 her, and he turnedH5493 aside to seeH7200 the carcassH4658 of the lion:H738 and, behold,H2009 there was a swarmH5712 of beesH1682 and honeyH1706 in the carcassH1472 of the lion.H738
9
And he tookH7287 thereof in his hands,H3709 and wentH3212 on eating,H398 and cameH1980 to his fatherH1 and mother,H517 and he gaveH5414 them, and they did eat:H398 but he toldH5046 not them that he had takenH7287 the honeyH1706 out of the carcassH1472 of the lion.H738
10
So his fatherH1 wentH3381 downH3381 to the woman:H802 and SamsonH8123 madeH6213 thereH8033 a feast;H4960 for soH3651 used the youngH970 men to do.H6213
11
And it cameH1961 to pass, when they sawH7200 him, that they broughtH3947 thirtyH7970 companionsH4828 to be with him.
12
And SamsonH8123 saidH559 to them, I will nowH4994 putH2330 forthH2330 a riddleH2420 to you: ifH518 you can certainly declareH5046 it me within the sevenH7651 daysH3117 of the feast,H4960 and findH4672 it out, then I will giveH5414 you thirtyH7970 sheetsH5466 and thirtyH7970 changeH2487 of garments:H899
13
But ifH518 you cannotH3808 H3201 declareH5046 it me, then shall you giveH5414 me thirtyH7970 sheetsH5466 and thirtyH7970 changeH2487 of garments.H899 And they saidH559 to him, PutH2330 forthH2330 your riddle,H2420 that we may hearH8085 it.
14
And he saidH559 to them, Out of the eaterH398 cameH3318 forthH3318 meat,H3978 and out of the strongH5794 cameH3318 forthH3318 sweetness.H4966 And they couldH3201 not in threeH7969 daysH3117 expoundH5046 the riddle.H2420
15
And it cameH1961 to pass on the seventhH7637 day,H3117 that they saidH559 to Samson'sH8123 wife,H802 EnticeH6601 your husband,H376 that he may declareH5046 to us the riddle,H2420 lestH6435 we burnH8313 you and your father'sH1 houseH1004 with fire:H784 have you calledH7121 us to takeH3423 that we have? is it not so?
16
And Samson'sH8123 wifeH802 weptH1058 beforeH5921 him, and said,H559 You do but hateH8130 me, and loveH157 me not: you have putH2330 forthH2330 a riddleH2420 to the childrenH1121 of my people,H5971 and have not toldH5046 it me. And he saidH559 to her, Behold,H2009 I have not toldH5046 it my fatherH1 norH3808 my mother,H517 and shall I tellH5046 it you?
17
And she weptH1058 beforeH5921 him the sevenH7651 days,H3117 while their feastH4960 lasted:H1961 and it cameH1961 to pass on the seventhH7637 day,H3117 that he toldH5046 her, becauseH3588 she lay sore on him: and she toldH5046 the riddleH2420 to the childrenH1121 of her people.H5971
18
And the menH582 of the cityH5892 saidH559 to him on the seventhH7637 dayH3117 beforeH2962 the sunH2775 wentH935 down,H3381 WhatH4100 is sweeterH4966 than honey?H1706 And whatH4100 is strongerH5794 than a lion?H738 and he saidH559 to them, IfH3884 you had not plowedH2790 with my heifer,H5697 you had not foundH4672 out my riddle.H2420
19
And the SpiritH7307 of the LORDH3068 cameH6743 on him, and he wentH3381 downH3381 to Ashkelon,H831 and slewH5221 thirtyH7970 menH376 of them, and tookH3947 their spoil,H2488 and gaveH5414 changeH2487 of garments to them which expoundedH5046 the riddle.H2420 And his angerH639 was kindled,H2734 and he wentH5927 up to his father'sH1 house.H1004
20
But Samson'sH8123 wifeH802 was given to his companion,H4828 whomH834 he had used as his friend.H7462
