NebuchadnezzarH5020 the king,H4430 to allH3606 people,H5972 nations,H524 and languages,H3961 that dwellH1753 in allH3606 the earth;H772 PeaceH8001 be multipliedH7680 to you.
2
I thoughtH8232 H6925 it goodH8232 to showH2324 the signsH852 and wondersH8540 that the highH5943 GodH426 has workedH5648 towardH5974 me.
3
HowH4101 greatH7260 are his signs!H852 and howH4101 mightyH8624 are his wonders!H8540 his kingdomH4437 is an everlastingH5957 kingdom,H4437 and his dominionH7985 is from generationH1859 to generation.H1859
4
I NebuchadnezzarH5020 was at restH7954 in my house,H1005 and flourishingH7487 in my palace:H1965
5
I sawH2370 a dreamH2493 which made me afraid,H1763 and the thoughtsH2031 on my bedH4903 and the visionsH2376 of my headH7217 troubledH927 me.
6
Therefore madeH7761 I a decreeH2942 to bringH5924 in allH3606 the wiseH2445 men of BabylonH895 beforeH6925 me, that they might make knownH3046 to me the interpretationH6591 of the dream.H2493
7
ThenH116 cameH5954 in the magicians,H2749 the astrologers,H826 the Chaldeans,H3779 and the soothsayers:H1505 and I toldH560 the dreamH2493 beforeH6925 them; but they did not make knownH3046 to me the interpretationH6591 thereof.
8
But atH5705 the lastH318 DanielH1841 cameH5954 in beforeH5922 H6925 me, whoseH1768 nameH8036 was Belteshazzar,H1096 according to the nameH8036 of my God,H426 and in whomH1768 is the spiritH7308 of the holyH6922 gods:H426 and beforeH6925 him I toldH560 the dream,H2493 saying,
9
O Belteshazzar,H1096 masterH7229 of the magicians,H2749 becauseH1768 I knowH3046 that the spiritH7308 of the holyH6922 godsH426 is in you, and noH3606 H3809 secretH7328 troublesH598 you, tellH560 me the visionsH2376 of my dreamH2493 that I have seen,H2370 and the interpretationH6591 thereof.
10
Thus were the visionsH2376 of my headH7217 in my bed;H4903 I saw,H2370 and behold H431a treeH363 in the middleH1459 of the earth,H772 and the heightH7314 thereof was great.H7690
11
The treeH363 grew,H7236 and was strong,H8631 and the heightH7314 thereof reachedH4291 to heaven,H8065 and the sightH2379 thereof to the endH5491 of allH3606 the earth:H772
12
The leavesH6074 thereof were fair,H8209 and the fruitH4 thereof much,H7690 and in it was meatH4203 for all:H3606 the beastsH2423 of the fieldH1251 had shadowH2927 underH8460 it, and the fowlsH6853 of the heavenH8065 dwelledH1753 in the boughsH6056 thereof, and allH3606 fleshH1321 was fedH2110 of it.
13
I sawH2370 in the visionsH2376 of my headH7217 on my bed,H4903 and, behold,H431 a watcherH5894 and an holyH6922 one cameH5182 downH5182 from heaven;H8065
14
He criedH7123 aloud,H2429 and saidH560 thus,H3652 HewH1414 down the tree,H363 and cutH7113 off his branches,H6056 shakeH5426 off his leaves,H6074 and scatterH921 his fruit:H4 let the beastsH2423 getH5111 awayH5111 from underH8478 it, and the fowlsH6853 from his branches:H6056
15
NeverthelessH1297 leaveH7662 the stumpH6136 of his rootsH8330 in the earth,H772 even with a bandH613 of ironH6523 and brass,H5174 in the tender grassH1883 of the field;H1251 and let it be wetH6647 with the dewH2920 of heaven,H8065 and let his portionH2508 be with the beastsH2423 in the grassH6211 of the earth:H772
16
Let his heartH3825 be changedH8133 from man's,H606 and let a beast'sH2423 heartH3825 be givenH3052 to him; and let sevenH7655 timesH5732 passH2499 overH5922 him.
17
This matterH6600 is by the decreeH1510 of the watchers,H5894 and the demandH7595 by the wordH3983 of the holyH6922 ones: to the intentH1701 that the livingH2417 may knowH3046 that the mostH5943 HighH5943 rulesH7980 in the kingdomH4437 of men,H606 and givesH5415 it to whomsoeverH4479 he will,H6634 and setsH6966 up overH5922 it the basestH8215 of men.H606
18
ThisH1836 dreamH2493 I kingH4430 NebuchadnezzarH5020 have seen.H2370 Now you, O Belteshazzar,H1096 declareH560 the interpretationH6591 thereof, for as muchH3606 as allH3606 the wiseH2445 men of my kingdomH4437 are not ableH3202 to make knownH3046 to me the interpretation:H6591 but you are able;H3546 for the spiritH7308 of the holyH6922 godsH426 is in you.
19
ThenH116 Daniel,H1841 whoseH1768 nameH8036 was Belteshazzar,H1096 was astonishedH8075 for oneH2298 hour,H8160 and his thoughtsH7476 troubledH927 him. The kingH4430 spoke,H6032 and said,H560 Belteshazzar,H1096 let not the dream,H2493 or the interpretationH6591 thereof, troubleH927 you. BelteshazzarH1096 answeredH6032 and said,H560 My lord,H4756 the dreamH2493 be to them that hateH8131 you, and the interpretationH6591 thereof to your enemies.H6146
20
The treeH363 that you saw,H2370 whichH1768 grew,H7236 and was strong,H8631 whose heightH7314 reachedH4291 to the heaven,H8065 and the sightH2379 thereof to allH3606 the earth;H772
21
Whose leavesH6074 were fair,H8209 and the fruitH4 thereof much,H7690 and in it was meatH4203 for all;H3606 underH8460 which the beastsH2423 of the fieldH1251 dwelled,H1753 and on whose branchesH6056 the fowlsH6853 of the heavenH8065 had their habitation:H7932
22
It is you, O king,H4430 that are grownH7236 and becomeH8631 strong:H8631 for your greatnessH7238 is grown,H7236 and reachesH4291 to heaven,H8065 and your dominionH7985 to the endH5491 of the earth.H772
23
And whereasH1768 the kingH4430 sawH2370 a watcherH5894 and an holyH6922 one comingH5182 downH5182 from heaven,H8065 and saying,H560 HewH1414 the treeH363 down, and destroyH2255 it; yetH1297 leaveH7662 the stumpH6136 of the rootsH8330 thereof in the earth,H772 even with a bandH613 of ironH6523 and brass,H5174 in the tender grassH1883 of the field;H1251 and let it be wetH6647 with the dewH2920 of heaven,H8065 and let his portionH2508 be with the beastsH2423 of the field,H1251 tillH5704 sevenH7655 timesH5732 passH2499 overH5922 him;
24
ThisH1836 is the interpretation,H6591 O king,H4430 and thisH1931 is the decreeH1510 of the mostH5943 High,H5943 whichH1768 is comeH4291 on my lordH4756 the king:H4430
25
That they shall driveH2957 you from men,H606 and your dwellingH4070 shall be with the beastsH2423 of the field,H1251 and they shall make you to eatH2939 grassH6211 as oxen,H8450 and they shall wetH6647 you with the dewH2920 of heaven,H8065 and sevenH7655 timesH5732 shall passH2499 overH5922 you, tillH5704 you knowH3046 that the mostH5943 HighH5943 rulesH7980 in the kingdomH4437 of men,H606 and givesH5415 it to whomsoeverH4479 he will.H6634
26
And whereasH1768 they commandedH560 to leaveH7662 the stumpH6136 of the treeH363 roots;H8330 your kingdomH4437 shall be sureH7011 to you, afterH1767 that you shall have knownH3046 that the heavensH8065 do rule.H7990
27
Why,H3861 O king,H4430 let my counselH4431 be acceptableH8232 to you, and breakH6562 off your sinsH2408 by righteousness,H6665 and your iniquitiesH5758 by showing mercyH2604 to the poor;H6033 ifH2006 it may be a lengtheningH754 of your tranquility.H7963
28
AllH3606 this cameH4291 on the kingH4430 Nebuchadnezzar.H5020
29
At the endH7118 of twelveH8648 H6236 monthsH3393 he walkedH1981 in the palaceH1965 of the kingdomH4437 of Babylon.H895
30
The kingH4430 spoke,H6032 and said,H560 Is not thisH1668 greatH7227 Babylon,H895 that I have builtH1124 for the houseH1005 of the kingdomH4437 by the mightH8632 of my power,H2632 and for the honorH3367 of my majesty?H1923
31
WhileH5751 the wordH4406 was in the king'sH4430 mouth,H6433 there fellH5308 a voiceH7032 from heaven,H8065 saying, O kingH4430 Nebuchadnezzar,H5020 to you it is spoken;H560 The kingdomH4437 is departedH5709 from you.
32
And they shall driveH2957 you from men,H606 and your dwellingH4070 shall be with the beastsH2423 of the field:H1251 they shall make you to eatH2939 grassH6211 as oxen,H8450 and sevenH7655 timesH5732 shall passH2499 overH5922 you, untilH5704 you knowH3046 that the mostH5943 HighH5943 rulesH7980 in the kingdomH4437 of men,H606 and givesH5415 it to whomsoeverH4479 he will.H6634
33
The same hourH8160 was the thingH4406 fulfilledH5487 on Nebuchadnezzar:H5020 and he was drivenH2957 from men,H606 and did eatH399 grassH6211 as oxen,H8450 and his bodyH1655 was wetH6647 with the dewH2920 of heaven,H8065 tillH5704 his hairsH8177 were grownH7236 like eagles'H5403 feathers, and his nailsH2953 like birds'H6853 claws.
34
And at the endH7118 of the daysH3118 I NebuchadnezzarH5020 liftedH5191 up my eyesH5870 to heaven,H8065 and my understandingH4486 returnedH7725 to me, and I blessedH1289 the mostH5943 High,H5943 and I praisedH7624 and honoredH1922 him that livesH2416 for ever,H5957 whoseH1768 dominionH7985 is an everlastingH5957 dominion,H7985 and his kingdomH4437 is from generationH1859 to generation:H1859
35
And allH3606 the inhabitantsH1753 of the earthH772 are reputedH2804 as nothing:H3809 and he doesH5648 according to his willH6634 in the armyH2429 of heaven,H8065 and among the inhabitantsH1753 of the earth:H772 and noneH3809 can stayH4223 his hand,H3028 or sayH560 to him, WhatH4101 doH5648 you?
36
At the same timeH2166 my reasonH4486 returnedH7725 to me; and for the gloryH3367 of my kingdom,H4437 my honorH1923 and brightnessH2122 returnedH7725 to me; and my counsellorsH1907 and my lordsH7261 soughtH1158 to me; and I was establishedH8627 in my kingdom,H4437 and excellentH3493 majestyH7238 was addedH3255 to me.
37
NowH3705 I NebuchadnezzarH5020 praiseH7624 and extolH7313 and honorH1922 the KingH4430 of heaven,H8065 allH3606 whoseH1768 worksH4567 are truth,H7187 and his waysH735 judgment:H1780 and thoseH1768 that walkH1981 in prideH1466 he is ableH3202 to abase.H8214
