The wordH1697 whichH834 cameH1961 to JeremiahH3414 from the LORD,H3068 saying,H559
2
Arise,H6965 and goH3381 downH3381 to the potter'sH3335 house,H1004 and thereH8033 I will cause you to hearH8085 my words.H1697
3
Then I wentH3381 downH3381 to the potter'sH3335 house,H1004 and, behold,H2009 he workedH6213 a workH4399 onH5921 the wheels.H70
4
And the vesselH3627 that he madeH6213 of clayH2563 was marredH7843 in the handH3027 of the potter:H3335 so he madeH6213 it againH7725 anotherH312 vessel,H3627 as seemedH5869 goodH3474 to the potterH3335 to makeH6213 it.
5
Then the wordH1697 of the LORDH3068 cameH1961 to me, saying,H559
6
O houseH1004 of Israel,H3478 cannotH3808 H3201 I doH6213 with you as thisH2088 potter?H3335 saidH5002 the LORD.H3068 Behold,H2009 as the clayH2563 is in the potter'sH3335 hand,H3027 soH3651 are you in my hand,H3027 O houseH1004 of Israel.H3478
7
At what instantH7281 I shall speakH1696 concerningH5921 a nation,H1471 and concerningH5921 a kingdom,H4467 to pluckH5428 up, and to pullH5422 down, and to destroyH6 it;
8
If that nation,H1471 againstH5921 whomH834 I have pronounced,H1696 turnH7725 from their evil,H7451 I will repentH5162 of the evilH7451 that I thoughtH2803 to doH6213 to them.
9
And at what instantH7281 I shall speakH1696 concerningH5921 a nation,H1471 and concerningH5921 a kingdom,H4467 to buildH1129 and to plantH5193 it;
10
If it doH6213 evilH7451 in my sight,H5869 that it obeyH8085 not my voice,H6963 then I will repentH5162 of the good,H2896 with whichH834 I saidH559 I would benefitH3190 them.
11
NowH6258 therefore goH4994 to, speakH559 to the menH376 of Judah,H3063 and to the inhabitantsH3427 of Jerusalem,H3389 saying,H559 ThusH3541 saidH559 the LORD;H3068 Behold,H2009 I frameH3335 evilH7451 againstH5921 you, and deviseH2803 a deviceH4284 againstH5921 you: returnH7725 you nowH4994 everyH376 oneH376 from his evilH7451 way,H1870 and make your waysH1870 and your doingsH4611 good.H3190
12
And they said,H559 There is no hope:H2976 but we will walkH1980 afterH310 our own devices,H4284 and we will everyH376 oneH376 doH6213 the imaginationH8307 of his evilH7451 heart.H3820
13
ThereforeH3651 thusH3541 saidH559 the LORD;H3068 AskH7592 you nowH4994 among the heathen,H1471 whoH4310 has heardH8085 suchH428 things: the virginH1330 of IsraelH3478 has doneH6213 a veryH3966 horribleH8186 thing.
14
Will a man leaveH5800 the snowH7950 of LebanonH3844 which comesH935 from the rockH6697 of the field?H7704 or shall the coldH7119 flowingH5140 watersH4325 that come from anotherH2114 place be forsaken?H5428
15
BecauseH3588 my peopleH5971 has forgottenH7911 me, they have burnedH6999 incenseH6999 to vanity,H7723 and they have caused them to stumbleH3782 in their waysH1870 from the ancientH5769 paths,H7635 to walkH1980 in paths,H5410 in a wayH1870 not castH5549 up;
16
To makeH7760 their landH776 desolate,H8047 and a perpetualH5769 hissing;H8292 everyH3605 one that passesH5674 therebyH5921 shall be astonished,H8074 and wagH5110 his head.H7218
17
I will scatterH6327 them as with an eastH6921 windH7307 beforeH6440 the enemy;H341 I will showH7200 them the back,H6203 and not the face,H6440 in the dayH3117 of their calamity.H343
18
Then saidH559 they, Come H3212and let us deviseH2803 devicesH4284 againstH5921 Jeremiah;H3414 for the lawH8451 shall not perishH6 from the priest,H3548 nor counselH6098 from the wise,H2450 nor the wordH1697 from the prophet.H5030 Come,H3212 and let us smiteH5221 him with the tongue,H3956 and let us not give heedH7181 to anyH3605 of his words.H1697
19
Give heedH7181 to me, O LORD,H3068 and listenH8085 to the voiceH6963 of them that contendH3401 with me.
20
Shall evilH7451 be recompensedH7999 for good?H2896 for they have digH3738 a pitH7745 for my soul.H5315 RememberH2142 that I stoodH5975 beforeH6440 you to speakH1696 goodH2896 for them, and to turnH7725 away your wrathH2534 from them.
21
ThereforeH3651 deliverH5414 up their childrenH1121 to the famine,H7458 and pourH5064 out their blood by the forceH3027 of the sword;H2719 and let their wivesH802 be bereavedH7909 of their children, and be widows;H490 and let their menH582 be putH2026 to death;H4194 let their youngH970 men be slainH5221 by the swordH2719 in battle.H4421
22
Let a cryH2201 be heardH8085 from their houses,H1004 whenH3588 you shall bringH935 a troopH1416 suddenlyH6597 on them: for they have digH3738 a pitH7743 H7882 to takeH3920 me, and hidH2934 snaresH6341 for my feet.H7272
23
Yet, LORD,H3068 you knowH3045 allH3605 their counselH6098 againstH5921 me to slayH4191 me: forgiveH3722 not their iniquity,H5771 neitherH408 blotH4229 out their sinH2403 from your sight,H6440 but let them be overthrownH3782 beforeH6440 you; dealH6213 thus with them in the timeH6256 of your anger.H639
